E DON TAE
“E Don Tey” is a phrase in Krio language, which means – “it has been a long time” in English language. The song was inspired by the corruption, injustice, and poverty bound in the African continent. E Don Tey was written by Nu.Skillz and Produced by Dollar Sign. Mixed and Mastered by Biggz.
Perhaps it is the nature of an ‘Hallelujah’ to have many births, seeing the word itself is eternal. I wrote and recorded the song ‘Hallelujah’ for the first time in the year 2003 but that unknown to me was just its first birth. As an active military personnel who has served several tours of duty, I have faced as can be expected many challenging times but none of these can compare to the challenge of watching my mother slowly leave us as she battled for her life under the burden of a terminal illness. This was the period of my life when the song ‘Hallelujah’ had its second birth in 2018, produced and mixed by Mark Kalagayan, in the version that exists today. My mum passed away just after the production of the song in 2019 and post-production was delayed until after her funeral. This song is an ode to the strength and courage we all need to overcome life’s most trying times. I am grateful to God for my own grasp of strength and courage because He came through for me when I needed him most. Hallelujah!
